Lake Terrapin is an active, family friendly community with many fun events throughout the year.  All events are approved by the Lake Terrapin HOA Board but are planned and run by volunteers assisting the Social Committee which meets once a month to plan and coordinate neighborhood events.

Help ensure our neighborhood is a fun place to live by serving on the Social Committee or by helping out at one of our events listed below.

Helping the Social Committee is easy. Any resident interested to volunteer to help the Social Committee should send an to [email protected] or come to a Social Commitee Meeting to find ways you can help.

Social Event Coordinators:

Social Event Coordinators take overall planning responsibilities for an event and help identify volunteer shift opportunities (serve food, work at a craft table, supervise games or activities, etc.). The Event Coordinators are the workforce of the HOA and receive assignments of particular event responsibility from the Social Committee Chairperson and provides the Chairperson with recommendations regarding budget, scheduling, developing flyers for the event, recruiting volunteers and other related tasks. are responsible for ensuring all of the budgeting, planning, scheduling, establishing volunteers shifts, developing of marketing flyers, and logistics for their assigned event. The Event Coordinators report to and provides regular updates on event planning to their Committee Chair. Event Coordinators are not allowed to make purchases on behalf of the HOA. The Event Coordinators are members of the Social Committee and therefore must be appointed to the Social Committee by the HOA Board. All purchases for events must be made by a HOA Board Member.

Committee Chair:

The Committee Chairperson position is appointed by a majority vote of the HOA Board. A Committee Chair reports to the HOA Board and is responsible to provide guidance to Event Coordinators, assist with establishing schedules and arranging logistics, and to ensure budgets are brought to the HOA Board for review and approval prior to any purchases. The Committee Chair is not allowed to make purchases on behalf of the HOA. All purchases must be made by a HOA Board Member. The HOA Board Liaison to the Social Committee is Brian Smith.

Architectural Review Board

  • Lake Terrapin is a beautiful, well-maintained neighborhood. The Architectural Review Board (ARB) is made up of volunteers that help ensure that HOA Guidelines are met when neighbors want to make improvements to their homes.
  • The Architectural Review Board’s responsibility is to interpret the Architectural Guidelines and receive, review, and make a decision on property improvements submitted by Lake Terrapin residents. Volunteers on the ARB meet by webinar once a month to review any submitted improvement applications.
  • The composition and work of the Architectural Review Board is defined in Article V of the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions of Lake Terrapin.
